【IB課程的奇妙之旅-家長篇】 誠邀您做教育的合伙人

IB課程的框架中,我們常常聽到“學習社區”的概念,這個“學習社區”的共同建設一定離不開家長的參與支持。十一小長假前夕,WAIS誠邀全體家長做我們教育的合伙人,共同開啟了 一次IB課程的奇妙之旅!


In IB curriculum model, we heard a lot about “learning community”which needs the strong support of parents. Learning community is extremely important. Therefore, WAIS invited all the parents to join in the parents’ orientation of IB PYP before the National holiday.




首先IB課程的項目協調員張老師與大家一起認識了什么是IB,IB的發展歷史及它的教育理念, “要了解一種教育,不僅從它的學習模式,學科設置出發,更重要的是去理解它所追求的教育目標,教育理念。只有這樣高屋建瓴的去了解去理解,才能真正的接受并放心的讓學生在這樣的學校,這樣的教育環境下成長?!苯榻BIB課程的張老師說到。

隨后她向大家介紹了什么是PYP小學項目,PYP的6大超學科主題及設置的學科包括語言、數學、科學、社會、藝術和體育健康。


Firstly, the IB coordinator introduced the basic concept of IB, including the history and philosophy. She mentioned that “it’s important to know the curriculum model at the first stage, however, understanding the objective and philosophy are more important than that”.Then she illuminated PYP project with 6 transdisciplinary themes and related subjects including Language, Mathematics, Science, Social, Arts and PE.


那么,怎樣讓家長們對課程有更直觀的了解呢?我們每個年級在六大超學科主題中選擇了一個內容,各學科教師代表們就這些主題下的內容怎么教,孩子們學什么及如何評估教學成果,向各位家長做了詳盡的解釋,如下:


In order to make the parents understand the curriculum model, we choose one topic for each grade from 6 transdisiplinary themes as followed。



一年級的學校主題將學校提升為學校社區,從角色和責任及建立有效社區的因素入手,通過不同學科有趣的課題探究,使孩子們了解“功能”“聯系”及“原因”這三大基本概念。


For grade one, topic “school” is mentioned as a“school community”. The lines of inquiry include roles and responsibilities in the school, and the factors that make an effective school community. The key concepts of “function” ”connection” and “causation” will be well taught through different interesting inquiry classes.

二年級的文化主題將時間變化融入,不僅讓孩子們了解我們的傳統,習俗及人們的傳承和表達,還從不同的時間發生的文化變化來進行探究比較,又讓孩子們了解“功能”“變化”及“觀點”的概念。


For grade two, topic “culture” is based on different periods. Students will not only know the traditional cultures and different ways of expression but also compare and inquire the differences of cultures in different periods.

三年級的幸福主題從孩子們的自身出發,從心理上,身體上和精神上做為切入點,更貼近孩子們的日常生活,教會他們怎樣平衡自己的健康與生活,并提升為“責任”“原因”及“反思”的概念。


For grade three, topic “well-being” is chosen with the lines of inquiry from spiritual, physical and mental, which is tightly close to our daily life. They are also taught how to live a healthy and good life and the concepts of responsilibity, causation and reflection..


最后,甘校長以國家課程與IB課程的融合切入,對這次家長會做了總結。給出了IB PYP項目在WAIS實施的計劃時間表;對IB課程與中國課程進行了詳盡的對比,強調“概念”的主導地位和不同理解,闡明教和學方法的先進模式、不同設置;就探究課時計劃及學科課時給出了確切的說明。


Finally, WAIS academic headmaster Ms. Gan made a conclusion of Chinese curriculum Standards and IB curriculum. She showed us the progress and schedule of IB PYP in WAIS,explicated the written and taught curriculum, emphasized the “concept” as an essential element.



綜上所述,我們的課程融合不僅符合國家課程標準,同時也為培養學生成為符合IB理念“具有國際情懷的終身學習者”提供可行性方法。


In conclusion, the curriculum accords with Chinese standards as well as cultivates the students to become internationally-minded lifelong leaners .



心中種下風雅的種子,早晚會開出靈性之花,老師與學生都在不斷成長與自我學習的道路上共同進步!讓我們家校結合,共創學校的美好未來!


It’s also a good chance for us teachers to improve ourselves and learn with students together. WAIS is inviting parents to be our partner to build a brighter future.
