A worldwide IB programme
WAIS has integrated the Chinese national curriculum with IB curriculum and assessment principles for teaching and learning. Students will be mastering valuable skills and knowledge. They will achieve a better understanding of the core concepts and reach their educational development needs.
IB promotes student - centred learning. Whist Knowledge and skills are part of an education, learning to "be a person" is fundamental. IB emphasises preserving its own traditions and encouraging children to learn their mother tongue and embrace their culture.
WAIS established a strong relationship with PLC in Australia. PLC was established more than 100 years ago, they have a strong educational foundation, and high quality teaching achievement and an outstanding teaching team. The teachers and students of Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 will go to PLC in Australia for one month every academic year.
The teachers at PLC will give lessons to students, which will strengthen the students' English learning, and also experience the different cultures within a developed country.
Subjects include： ESL， English， Maths， English Drama， Classical Reading, Western Cultural Activities.
PE and Art Courses
Every student at WAIS will learn swimming, fencing and a musical instrument as compulsory subjects.
In addition, PE also includes Taekwondo, Tennis, Basketball and more. Art courses also includes Instrumental Music, Animation and more.
